Partnership Agreement

The Partnership Agreement is a document, prepared by each Member State and approved by the European Commission, which “sets out the Member State’s strategy and priorities and how the ESI Funds can be used efficiently and effectively to pursue the EU Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth”.

The legislative package on Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 (IT, EN, FR) introduces important changes, such as an enhanced coordination of the programming of the four EU funds linked to the Common Strategic Framework (CSF) 2014-2020 in a single strategic document, and close coherence with Europe 2020 Strategy  goals for smart, inclusive and sustainable growth of the EU, and with the economic policy coordination requirements set by the European Semester.

The process of preparation of the strategy document was concluded with the approval of the 2014-2020 Partnership Agreement for use of European Structural and Investment (ESI) Funds, adopted on 29 October 2014 by the European Commission at the end of formal negotiations.
