The 2014-2020 Partnership Agreement
The Partnership Agreement is a document, prepared by each Member State and approved by the Commission, which sets out that Member State’s strategy and priorities and illustrates how the ESI Funds can be used efficiently and effectively to pursue the Union’s strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
The legislative package on 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy (IT, EN, FR) introduces important changes, such as enhanced coordination of the programming of the four EU funds linked to the 2014-2020 Common Strategic Framework (CSF) in one single strategy document, and close coherence with the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, inclusive and sustainable growth of the EU and with the requirements of the European Semester of economic policy coordination.
The preparation of the strategy document was concluded with the approval of the 2014-2020 Partnership Agreement on the use of the European Structural and Investment (ESI) Funds, adopted on 29 October 2014 by the European Commission to close the formal negotiations.
